“Overcast”
I have interpreted Goal # 15 "Life on land," The motif speaks of the destruction done by European corporations in the forests of Europe. This directly concerns all Europeans, as some of the last virgin forests on the continent are being logged under false pretexts.
The standing figure on the freshly cut log represents youth and their wish to express anti-consumerism. The bigger figure invites everyone to envision a different future starting in the imagination. The sky is gloomy, and there is a storm above us. But there are also rays of light on our main character. We may not see the light source directly, but its effects are there.
Bogdan Scutaru was born in Mârâsesti in eastern Romania in 1989. As a child he loved to draw, and he grew up among the ruins of communism that could be seen everywhere in the small town. Bogdan made his first drawings on former railway buildings and old abandoned factories. Here, his interest in art and murals was really awakened through the 2000s.
Bogdan has a great talent, but never received any formal training in art. Like so many other street artists, it all started for him by painting graffiti.
Today, Bogdan Scutaru paints everything from fantasy to realism. He has an almost photorealistic talentm and is known for his incredibly detailed sketches, which he scales up to large murals painted with the same sense of detail as his smaller works exhibit.
For the past four years, Bogdan has also worked as a tattoo artist. In recent years, he has created murals in Romania, Kosovo, Albania and Denmark.
