Hans Krull & Peter Birk, DK
The two artists live with a brush in hand and have an extensive artistic production. They are alike in creating – quickly, wildly, and with not too much planning. They complement each other well. But their backgrounds are different. Krull is from the '68 generation and Birk from generation X – the hangover of the '68s. Krull is schooled and Birk is self-taught. They have both greatly influenced Aarhus. Several of their artworks adorn gables, walls, and entrances. Hans Krull is behind the well-known seagull kiss and the entrance to Hotel Royal, as well as the decoration of the facade of the basement bar Under Masken, which he also owns. Peter Birk has created numerous street art pieces on the city's gables with decaying fishing boats and ornamental patterns. Birk is also the owner of Galleri Grisk.
