“Faucet of life”
This painting depicts a serene and tranquil scene of a little girl floating in a lake, while a gentle rain falls. The girl holds a heart-shaped balloon in warm, golden hues, while a faucet nearby pours a continual stream of clear, iridescent water into the lake.
The harmony between the girl and her natural surroundings underline the need for living in balance with nature and avoid taking the resources it provides us with for granted. An atmosphere of calmness, purity, renewal, vitality and freshness permeates the motif.
The painting tells us to be conscious about how we consume drinking water and to take care of the environment, and about treasuring and protecting the continuity in the cycle of water as a vital, circular resource for the generations to come.
Martín Ron was born on 13 March 1981 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was the first artist to paint a large mural in the Villa Urquiza neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. He studied art and cultural management at the National University of Tres de Febrero, where he later worked as a teacher and taught Street Art. He continues to develop seminars and workshops where he teaches himself.
Ronmuralist is known all over the world, many believe he is among the world's ten best street artists. His gigantic works can be found in many cities around the world: London, Tallinn, Penang, Bristol, Miami, New York, Tenerife, Bremen, and Glauchau.
His large-scale works are characterised by a hyper-realistic style, with the use of strong colours and textures. He works with a 3D technique, which adds to the sense of realism of his works. One of his personal characteristics is the use of a grid, which is present in several of his murals. He also paints on canvas, feeling that he needs to do art on a smaller scale as well.
Since 2010, he has worked as artistic director of the "Urban Embellishment" program of the Partido de Tres de Febrero, where he has created more than 250 murals with various collaborators. He participated in the first and second editions of the international Meeting of Styles festival that took place in Buenos Aires.
Since 2011 he has executed a series of large-scale murals in tribute to popular culture icons together with other artists, as well as participated in many street art festivals in his home country. He has also participated in festivals abroad in Germany, Miami, New York, Belgium, London, Bristol, Estonia, Spain and Malaysia.
